Archival Specialist
Erik Bergström is a historian with many years of experience in archival research. His careful analysis of historical documents, such as parish registers, censuses and hospital records, has led to the discovery and inclusion in our research of a number of previously unknown sources. Erik is an invaluable source of knowledge about daily life and health conditions in 19th-century northern Sweden.
Project Coordinator
Anna Svensson is a sociologist with a master's degree in social sciences. In the project she is the coordinator, responsible for organizing the work of the team, communicating with partners, and organizing events and conferences. Anna is also responsible for international cooperation, connecting us with research institutions around the world. Her organizational and communication skills are crucial to the smooth functioning of the project.
Epidemiology Specialist
Lars Johansson is an epidemiologist with extensive experience in analyzing historical disease patterns. He holds a doctorate in public health and specializes in epidemic and pandemic research. His research helps to understand what epidemiological factors had the greatest impact on mortality in the 19th century and what the public and medical responses to these threats were.
Historian of Medicine
Helena Karlsson is a medical historian whose research focuses on medical practices and the availability of health care in 19th-century Sweden. Her work provides an understanding of how medicine of the time affected public health and what changes in medical practices took place over the decades.
